Ryan Wakefield is a PhD student at the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method. His research interests are primarily in decision theory, the ethics of risk, and the philosophy of wellbeing. In particular, he is interested in how the risks a person faces can directly affect their wellbeing, and how such considerations should influence our moral decision-making. Before joining LSE, Ryan studied at the University of York, graduating with a bachelor’s in mathematics and philosophy, and a master’s in philosophy.
