Dr Monika Kruesmann is a Guest Teacher in the Department of International Development.

She holds a PhD in International Relations from the LSE, and an MAIR from the Australian National University. Her PhD explored theories and mechanisms of norm diffusion in the international system, a research interest which she carried over into nearly a decade of work within the UK international development charity sector. She has a special interest in refugee pathways and resettlement practice, and has worked closely with both the UK Government and UNHCR, including in crisis-response situations. Dr Kruesmann has been a Review Editor on the board of Millennium: Journal of International Studies, and has been Co-Editor and Assistant Editor on United Nations University book publications including 'Partnerships for Women's Health' and 'Institutionalising Northeast Asia'. Dr Kruesmann is also the PhD and Research Manager within the Department of International Development.
