About
Michela Cimarelli is a PhD student in the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method. Her research draws on formal epistemology, decision theory, and agent-based modeling to investigate the social dynamics of scientific communities, examining how computational models can inform epistemic and normative claims about the division of cognitive labor and cumulative advantage in science. Her interests also encompass logic, philosophy of natural language processing, and Bayesian learning under boundedly rational conditions.
Before joining LSE, she worked as a research assistant at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development, Berlin, and at the Department of Media and Communication at LMU, Munich. She obtained her M.A. in Logic and Philosophy of Science from the Munich Center for Mathematical Philosophy, LMU, and her B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Pavia, Italy.
