About
Lewis Ross received a law degree from the University of Glasgow and then a PhD in philosophy from the University of St Andrews. He joined LSE Philosophy as a postdoctoral fellow in 2019, following his PhD, where he is now an Associate Professor. Lewis is currently the Director of the Centre for Philosophy of Natural and Social Science (CPNSS).
Lewis works across philosophy of law, political philosophy and epistemology—particularly the intersections between these areas. Much of his recent work is concerned with criminal justice and how citizens should relate to legal institutions. Lewis also has interests in various applied legal and criminological issues—he has worked, among other things, on jury science, mental capacity, reintegrating ex-offenders, and evidence law.
