About
Jonathan is a PhD student in LSE’s Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method. His research is about physical theories and models, and the problem of establishing equivalence criteria for theories. This interest extends to particular (putative) instances of equivalence in physics, such as with diffeomorphic models in general relativity, and the consequences of their equivalence (or inequivalence) for the Hole Argument. More generally, he is interested in the role of formal and natural languages in scientific reasoning, and in the project of elaborating a dual account of scientific theories that contains both linguistic and structural ingredients.
