Gianluca Cerruti is Assistant Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Genova, where he teaches Economic Policy and Economic Policy Evaluation. He leads the Applied Economics Team within the ERC-funded project "HABITAT".

He has held visiting positions at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC), the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Freie Universität Berlin (FU), and the Paris School of Economics (PSE).

His research primarily focuses on regional economics, political economy, and law and economics. His work has appeared in international journals, including the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Journal of Regional Science, and Review of Economics of the Household.

In 2024, he received the Best Paper Prize for Young Economists at the Warsaw International Economic Meeting.
