About
Franco Menares-Paredes is a PhD student in LSE's Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method at the London School of Economics, funded by ANID Chile. His research focuses on formal epistemology and general philosophy of science, with a special interest in the dynamics of scientific communities. To study these dynamics, he uses formal models and computer simulations. He also works on issues at the intersection of epistemology and public policy. More recently, he has been thinking about the ways in which AI might reshape scientific research and theorising.
Prior to becoming a PhD student at LSE, he completed an MSc in Logic, Computation, and Methodology at Carnegie Mellon University, a graduate diploma in Physics, and a major in Philosophy at the Universidad de Chile.
