Research topic:

AI and Labour Markets in Developing Economies

Farah Kaddah is a PhD candidate in Social Policy at LSE, funded by an LSE Studentship. Her research examines how artificial intelligence shapes labour markets in developing economies, asking whether AI-driven change leads to productive upgrading for workers and firms, or reinforces existing inequalities and low-productivity traps. Her work engages with global debates about technology, work, and inequality.

Farah brings experience across research, government, and international organisations. Before LSE, she was a Fellow at the Harvard Center for International Development, where she led labour market and education research, working closely with various governments and non-profits. She has also worked for the World Bank on labour market and education policy across the Middle East and North Africa. Earlier, she served as a policy advisor to Egypt's Ministry of Education, where she contributed to the design of the national education reform of her country.

Farah holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) from Georgetown University and a BA in Economics and Political Science from the American University in Cairo.
