Dr Ela Klecun received a BSc in Computing from Guildhall University, and a Master degree and a PhD in Information Systems from the LSE.

Her research is oriented towards developing a greater understanding of the way information and communication technologies (ICT) shape institutions, work practices and experiences of professional groups and individual people. The majority of her research have been concerned with the application of ICT in healthcare from nation-wide infrastructures, such as shared electronic health records, to medical apps. Her other interests include digital exclusion and ICT in learning and education.

Dr Ela Klecun’s research has been funded by various UK research councils. She published in major information systems, organization and medical journals, such as JAIS, EJIS, JIT, Organization, and BMJ. She serves as reviewer for all the major Information Systems and health informatics journals and conferences and for over a decade has been an associate editor for the International Journal of Digital Literacy and Digital Competence.
