About

Ben is a postdoctoral fellow focusing on the privatisation of health and social care services. Ben's work details the increasing rates of outsourcing of public services, the reasons for this, and the consequences for service users. At CASE, Ben evaluates how NHS privatisation in England impacts health outcomes for patients - analysing profit extraction of private companies; consequent health inequalities; and how existing problems with healthcare are exacerbated or alleviated by outsourcing. Previously, Ben has co-lead projects funded by the Nuffield Foundation evaluating the outsourcing of social care in England, based at the University of Oxford, where he also completed his PhD.
