Dr Chiara Berardi is an Assistant Professor in Health Systems and Policy at UCL's Global Business School for Health and a Visiting Fellow in the Department of Health Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Her research examines how the financing and provision of healthcare shape health system performance, with a particular focus on equity and efficiency. She works across quantitative and qualitative methods, and her core interest lies in the comparative dynamics of the public-private mix in healthcare. This includes population preferences over the respective roles of the public and private sectors, and the benefits and risks associated with different types of private investors, including private equity, in healthcare markets.
