Charlie is a PhD Economics candidate in the Department of Economics. His main research interests are empirical macroeconomics and history.

He is currently working on projects related to to consumption habits, hysteresis and the determination of interest rates. He also uses microdata to learn about macrophenomena.

Before joining the programme, he worked for several years in statistics and monetary policy at the Bank of England.

Charlie holds an MSc in Economics from University College London and a BA in History and Economics from the University of Oxford.
