Areej is a Research Officer in the AI & Digital Research Unit at LSE Health.
She holds an MSc in International Health Policy from the London School of Economics and a BHSc in Health Sciences from Western University, Canada.
Her research interests include health systems performance, digital health innovation, and health policy analysis, with a focus on health data infrastructure, learning health systems, digital and AI governance, and the economic and evaluative assessment of health system transformation programmes.
She has experience across UK and Canadian health systems, supporting policy development through economic analysis, evidence synthesis, and cross-country comparative work. She has contributed to NHS and academic projects on large-scale digital transformation, translating systems-level and quantitative analysis into clear policy and strategic outputs for health system stakeholders.
