Jessica Rea is a BPS chartered psychologist, Assistant Professor at University College London, and Visiting Fellow in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research considers the relationship between inequality and psychological, social and cultural processes.
Jessica is presently interested in developing a deeper understanding of the ways in which intergroup power dynamics influence social structures, and the ways in which these structures reinforce inequalities. Her work on culture and motivation considers processes of responsibilisation whereby people who are marginalised and have low institutional power are represented as responsible for broad structural injustices. Ultimately, her work aims to contribute to the development of more socially just, equitable and cooperative societies.
