LSE ranked top in London in Guardian University Guide 2027

LSE remains the top university in London for the seventh consecutive year in the Guardian University Guide 2027 league table.
The School was placed third overall in the 2027 Guide and named best university in the UK for Law and International Relations.
It continues to rank highly in the UK across all disciplines, including placing second for Business and Management, History, Psycholoy and Social Policy and Sociology.
Accounting and Finance, Politics, Philosophy and Economics all ranked in the UK top five.
The rankings are based on a range of measures including career prospects, teaching, and class sizes.
Commenting on the news, LSE Vice President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education) Emma McCoy said:
“These fantastic results year after year reflect the dedicated academic and professional services staff who work tirelessly to provide a world-class education for our students.
“We are committed to providing our students with high-quality teaching and the opportunities to develop the skills, experience and connections they will need to make an impact and shape a better future.”
These new rankings are consistent with other recent league tables. In June, LSE was ranked as the top university in London in the Complete University Guide 2027 and in March, it was ranked top three in the UK and fifth in the world for Social Science and Management subjects in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026.
