LSE academic appointed as Chancellor’s Industrial Strategy adviser

Dr Anna Valero, a Distinguished Policy Fellow at the Centre for Economic Performance (CEP) at LSE, has been appointed by the Chancellor as Industrial Strategy adviser.

Dr Valero will advise Rachel Reeves as a sector and industrial policy expert, helping the government deliver its modern Industrial Strategy.

Having previously worked as part of the Chancellor’s Council of Economic Advisers, Dr Valero was extensively involved in the development and publication of the Industrial Strategy White Paper and Sector Plans.

Commenting, Chancellor Rachel Reeves said: “I am delighted to welcome Anna back to the Treasury’s top team as we continue in our mission to boost economic growth and raise living standards across every corner of the country through our Plan for Change.
