Mortality and Health Survey among IDPs in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq

This project used a retrospective household survey to estimate death rates and the health status of internally displaced persons (IDPs) following the ISIS onslaught in northern Iraq during the summer of 2014. A representative sample of 1,300 displaced households residing in IDP camps and collective buildings were interviewed.

The project findings have important documentation functions for the international community and have served as inputs for the design of humanitarian relief strategies addressing the urgent health needs of IDPs in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. The research produced a number of policy-relevant outputs, which can be downloaded below.

This project forms part of the Academic Collaboration with Arab Universities Programme, funded by the Emirates Foundation.
