About me

Kieron Boyle leads three connected efforts to grow the impact economy, where private capital, enterprise, and philanthropy align for public benefit. Widely recognised as a leader in the field, he works across ventures, research, and policy to shape innovations, understand what works, and anchor change for the long term.

Kieron is Chief Executive of 100x Impact, a world-leading initiative based at the London School of Economics, backing the next generation of ‘social unicorns’ — ventures aiming to improve the lives of a billion people. He is also a Professor in Practice and Director at the LSE’s Marshall Institute, where he leads the LSE’s Impact Economy Project: a global platform for research, dialogue, and action on the future of the impact economy. As Chair of the UK’s Impact Investing Institute, he works to deepen the UK’s leadership in the field, with a goal of mobilising £1 trillion for positive societal impact.

Based at the Marshall Institute, the Impact Economy Project brings together researchers, policymakers, civil society and economic actors to explore how innovations in policy and capital can drive public value. The Project coordinates:

  • Impact Economy Policy Labs: facilitated spaces to co-create solutions to complex public service challenges, bringing together government, civil society, philanthropy, impact investors, and purpose-driven businesses
  • Impact Economy Inquiry: convening leading foundations and philanthropists to explore, develop, critique, and align ideas and practices that unlock capital for public good
  • Impact Economy Research: global studies into how innovation, policy, and capital can scale models of systemic change
  • Impact Economy Dialogues: a series of convenings with LSE academics and key leaders in the field to shape the future of the impact economy

Previously, Kieron was Chief Executive of Guy’s & St Thomas’ Foundation, where he reshaped its £1 billion endowment into a leading impact investment portfolio and launched pioneering models of urban health. In government, he was the architect of the UK’s first impact investment strategy and played founding roles in Better Society Capital, the Global Steering Group on Impact Investment, and introducing B Corps to the UK. He also held senior roles at No.10 Downing Street, the Cabinet Office, and the Foreign Office, following an early career at Boston Consulting Group in New York.

Kieron co-leads the UK government’s taskforce on impact capital, chairs a $7 trillion global investor alliance on health, and is a Governor of the Southbank Centre. He received the first OBE for services to the impact economy and is a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
