Master's in Management (MiM)

Josh Beardwell, MiM - 200 x 200 (1)

Josh Beardwell

Hi! I'm Josh, a 25-year-old from London studying the Master's in Management (MiM) within the Department of Management at LSE.

Returning to LSE was a straightforward decision. The School's vibrancy, international student and faculty community, and collaborative culture left a lasting impression during my undergraduate years here. Re-engaging with that environment, building a more global management perspective, and enjoying the occasional pint in The Three Tuns felt like a natural next step.

Before returning to study, I worked in strategy at Amazon, then at HSBC Innovation Banking, spending over two years providing debt financing to technology businesses across the UK and Europe. As a Student Ambassador, I'm keen to share honest, day-to-day insights on life at LSE, living in London, and the jump from university to work.

Beyond academia, I'm a pretty ordinary bloke. I play hockey and football, go to the gym, enjoy cooking, love socialising with friends, and spend an ungodly amount of time reading Bloomberg and the FT (get a life, Josh).

Looking ahead, I hope to build a career at the intersection of my two greatest interests - sport and finance - ultimately working on transactions that finance football clubs.

Maham Ali, MiM - 200 x 200 (1)

Maham Ali

Hello! My name is Maham and I am an International student from Pakistan studying the MSc in Management (or MiM as we like to call it) at the Department of Management at LSE.

I chose the MiM because I wanted to deepen my theoretical understanding of the business world after gaining hands-on experience in consulting. With an undergraduate degree in Economics and Politics, I realised the importance of strengthening my knowledge in areas like finance, marketing, and operations to better understand strategic decision-making. These concepts are exercised daily in the life of a consultant and I chose this programme to develop a holistic foundation in business and management disciplines.

At LSE, you will have endless opportunities for every interest under the sun. I'm actively involved in LSESU societies, serving as Treasurer for InvestHer, where I engage with an inspiring community of women passionate about finance and leadership.

Outside academics, I love pop-music, baking, yapping and documenting my life through pictures and videos (read: Instagram and TikTok).

As a Student Ambassador, I'm excited to share my experiences and look forward to being a part of the vibrant community here at LSE!

Benjamin Lau, MiM - 200 x 200 (1)

Outside of academics, I love playing badminton, cooking, and enjoying vibes with friends.

Looking ahead, I'm exploring opportunities in consulting, particularly within the healthcare sector.

Hi! I'm Zirui Zhu, you can call me Alice! I'm 22-year-old from Beijing, currently a graduate student studying Economics and Management in the Department of Management at LSE.

A key reason that I chose this programme is that it aligns with my career interests of being a consultant. In addition, it offers diverse and rigorous courses, combining theory with practical applications. For example, this term I am taking a 'Machine Learning and Data Mining' module by the Department of Statistics, which has allowed me to strengthen my coding skills and deepen my understanding of data analysis.

Sneha Bhandari

Hi! I'm Sneha, 23, from New Delhi, India. I'm currently studying an MSc in Human Resources and Organisations (HRM/CIPD Level 7) in the Department of Management at LSE.

I chose this programme because it sits at the intersection of what I love most: people, culture and strategy, and how it challenges me to think critically about the evolving world of work.

Before LSE, I spent over two years at Nestle India in HR Business Partnering and Global People Analytics, shaping high-impact talent, culture and leadership initiatives across Zone Asia, Oceania, and Africa.

As a Department of Management Student Ambassador, I write blogs and share my honest experiences during outreach events. Moving to a new country and starting a Master's programme can feel overwhelming, so I'm here to offer practical advice and insights on making the transition and discovering all the incredible ways to grow while at LSE.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy diving into Indian mythology, exploring the world through food and travel, and on quieter days, writing letters to my future self, a ritual I've kept alive for over a decade.

I'm passionate about people strategy and startups, and excited to see where this journey at LSE takes me, and I'd love to help you get started on yours too!

Salvika Rayamajhi, HRO (IER) - 200 x 200 (1)

Salvika Rayamajhi

Hi! I'm Salvika, originally from Kathmandu, Nepal. My personal and academic experiences across Nepal, Costa Rica, the Netherlands, and the United States have shown me how cultures and institutions shape ideas of inclusion, fairness, and opportunity.

These perspectives sparked my interest in how organisations can build systems that recognise neurodiversity and value different ways of thinking and working. To explore that, I'm enrolled in the IER/CIPD stream of the MSc Human Resources and Organisations programme.

Before joining LSE, I completed my undergraduate degree in BS Brain & Cognitive Sciences (concentration: neurobiology) and BA in Psychology. There, I did research exploring moral decision-making and developmental trauma, which deepened my interest in the social and systemic factors that influence wellbeing.

Outside of research, I worked as a student ambassador for the Center for Education Abroad, helping students navigate new academic and cultural environments - something I'm excited to continue doing at LSE!

As for my career plans, I'm currently exploring opportunities in human resources, organisational consulting and talent management.

Henry Wang, HRO (HRM) - 200 x 200 (1)

Henry Wang

Hi! I'm Haocheng (please also call me Henry). I'm 25, from Shanghai, China, and I'm studying the MSc Human Resources and Organisations in LSE's Department of Management.

My programme blends psychology with hands-on people management - a perfect combination that first hooked me during my undergraduate studies in UCL's Department of Psychology and Human Development and later through my working experiences.

I served as a Senior Transition Mentor and Student Representative at UCL, supporting new students as they settled into university life. Here at LSE, I'll be a Student Ambassador on Unibuddy, online events and the Student Lens blog.

Feel free to ask me anything about visas, house hunting, balancing work and life in London, or where to find the best budget coffee near campus.

When I'm not on Moodle, I'm cafe hopping, playing/watching five-a-side football, or squeezing in a late-night hip-hop music tasting session.

Career-wise, I'm leaning towards consulting and people-advisory roles.

I also developed a concept for a contactless air cargo monitoring system, which led to a direct collaboration with Lufthansa to pitch and refine the idea.

Hi! I'm Alex, currently studying the MSc Management Information Systems and Digital Innovation in the Department of Management at LSE.

Imagine using the LSE Food Club app for your tenth free coffee, only for it to crash at checkout just before the ninth stamp.
