Connson Chou Locke joined the Department of Management in 2008 where she teaches leadership, organisational behaviour, and negotiation and decision making. She received the Department of Management Outstanding Teaching Contribution Award in 2013, was Highly Commended for Inspirational Teaching in the Student-Led Teaching Excellence Awards in 2015 and 2017, and received the LSE Excellence in Education Award in 2018. Professor Locke holds a PhD and MSc in Business Administration (Organisational Behaviour) from the University of California at Berkeley and a BA in Sociology from Harvard University where she graduated with honours.
Before entering academia, Professor Locke worked for 16 years as an educator, manager, and management consultant in the United States and Asia Pacific, including serving as the Asia Pacific Regional Training and Development Manager for the Boston Consulting Group where she oversaw the learning and development of consulting staff across the region. She has extensive experience designing and teaching leadership development programmes and has worked in nearly 20 countries across Europe and Asia Pacific as well as in the United States and Australia.
Professor Locke currently teaches on, and holds director level positions, with two high-level executive education programmes at the LSE: the Executive Global Masters in Management and the LSE’s successful programme of short executive education courses aimed at senior professionals.
