About

Aqib Siddiqui is a Fellow in Information Systems and Innovation in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

He holds a PhD in Management of Information Systems from IE Business School (Madrid, Spain). His research uses machine learning and computational methods to address Information Systems challenges. His doctoral work focuses on understanding digital maturity in children, where he has developed a scale to assess digital competency levels across age groups, applying machine learning and explainable AI to ensure transparency and interpretability. His work also extends into data governance, where he examines how values and stakeholder interests shape policy formation, using the EU Data Act as a primary case. More recently, he has begun investigating the dynamics of AI-native social systems and developing agentic AI-based methods for computational research, exploring how autonomous agents can be deployed both as subjects of study and as tools for inquiry.

At LSE, Aqib teaches across the MSc Management of Information and Digital Innovation programme and contributes to executive education through the LSE Career Accelerator in AI Leadership. He serves as Associate Editor for ECIS 2026 and co-organiser of its Computationally-Intensive Theory Construction workshop. His research has been presented at leading venues including ICIS, ECIS, AMCIS, and INFORMS, and his work on children's digital maturity has been featured in The Conversation.
