Leslie Willcocks, Emeritus Professor of Work, Technology and Globalisation in LSE’s Department of Management, has published a new book in a series on global business.

The new title, called Global Business: Management, is a follow up to Global Business: Strategy in Context, which dealt with the global business environment and international and competitive strategies for entry and growth in new markets. Both are designed for and used on BSc and MSc programmes at LSE.

This new publication takes the learning on international business context and strategy further by drilling down into key, functional areas. Specifically, Professor Willcocks explores designing structure and organisation; marketing and R&D; devising sourcing and supply chain arrangements; establishing information systems that perform globally; and distinctive arrangements for managing international human resources.

The book also gives special place to global digital business, to reflect how Information and communications and digital technologies have grown out of a support role to become increasingly central to strategic thinking and operational functioning.

Both Global Business: Management and Global Business: Strategy in Context are available from SB Publishing.
