Supporting Stakeholder Organisations
Dr Simon Brown’s background is as researcher / innovator in science, and developmental work in holography for security systems such as credit cards. After 10 years in the commercial world he returned to academia. Shortly after starting as a Physics lecturer, he wrote his first degree programme. Success here resulted in him leading a nationally recognised Teaching & Learning programme and to develop and grow the internationally recognised interdisciplinary ‘Venture Matrix’ initiative at Sheffield Hallam University. A move as Director to Southampton Solent’s Business School led to the development of new courses such as ‘Social Entrepreneurs’ - as part of a European HEI collaborative project. Simon was elected to Chair Enterprise Educators UK by membership HEIs in 2009, and he initiated an advisory role for EEUK with key Government departments. Simon has contributed to many international conferences and keynoted at the prestigious International Entrepreneurship Educator’s Conference. Current projects include the acclaimed ‘Researcher to Innovator’ programme, and that success led to ICURe, a sector leading IP exploitation programme.
