Visitor access to LSE Library and Archive

Welcome
Our Library is open to all who want to use the collections.
The access we provide varies from four weeks, three months to the full academic year — depending on your affiliation and requirements.
Collections you can access
Visitors can use most print items (excluding Course Collection books), and some electronic resources via the 1st floor visitor PCs. Need help? Contact us.

Digital scanning service
If you are unable to visit you may benefit from our free scanning service which is aimed at researchers wishing to consult small amounts of material remotely. Digital scans of archives and special collections items can be ordered for personal use.
Each request will be considered on a case-by-case basis. We aim to produce scans, subject to condition approval and appropriate copyright restrictions, within 10 working days.
