LLM Community Events
There are lots of opportunities for LLM students to interact, network and socialise with their peers and staff throughout the academic year and beyond. Check out some of what our students have gotten up to below:
LLM Residential Weekend in Brighton
Each year we organise a heavily subsidised weekend away for students to visit another part of our beautiful country and socialise with one another. The weekend usually includes all meals (and most drinks), activities, and a night or two out! Discover the perfect blend of legal enlightenment and coastal charm with the LLM Weekend Trip to Brighton.
- Spectacular Location: Our base camp is the luxurious Leonardo Royal Hotel in Brighton, where you’ll rest in comfort after days of exploration.
- Diverse Activities: From guided walking tours that uncover Brighton’s hidden gems to Bingo Night where you can test your luck, and Karaoke Night for unleashing your inner pop star, there’s something for everyone.
Dean’s Lunches
Throughout the academic year, students are invited to attend lunch with the Dean of the LSE Law School, in a relaxed and informal setting. This is a great opportunity to mingle with fellow students on the LLM programme and catch up the Dean of the School. There will be a selection of food and drinks on offer.

Termly Social Events
From games nights to festive socials (with prizes…), there are plenty of opportunities to meet and socialise with your cohort

LLM Residential Weekend – Cumberland Lodge
Every year, the Law School arranges an academic weekend away for staff and students, the purpose of which is to create an informal and friendly environment where issues related to the law can be discussed. The trip is subsidised by the Law School, but each student who attends will be required to contribute a sum of £105.00. This price includes accommodation, food and transportation to and from Cumberland Lodge.
The discussions centre around a series of lectures given by a number of speakers, from the legal profession and academia. In addition to the lectures, you will have plenty of free time to get to know your fellow students, stroll the grounds or visit the local attractions. Attendees will also have an opportunity to attend Royal Chapel in Windsor Great Park on the Sunday of the visit.

LLM Annual Dinner
The LLM Annual Dinner takes place in Winter Term. Held at one of the stunning Inns of Court, the event is a great opportunity for students and staff to socialise over a three-course meal in a beautiful setting, and toast to their achievements so far in the academic year.
