New academic building interior

Welcome to LSE Law School

Welcome message from Andrew Murray, Dean of the LSE Law School

Congratulations on securing your place on the LLB at the London School of Economics and Political Science — and on achieving the outstanding results that have earned your admission. This is a remarkable accomplishment: you are joining one of the world’s leading law schools, renowned for its academic excellence, innovative thinking, and global outlook.

LSE Law School is a dynamic and inclusive academic community, where curiosity is encouraged, debate is welcomed, and ideas are tested. Our LLB programme offers a distinctive approach to the study of law — exploring legal principles in the wider social, economic, and political contexts in which they are created, interpreted, and applied.

There is no better place to study law than right here in the heart of Legal London. From our campus, you are just steps away from the Royal Courts of Justice, a short walk to Parliament, the Old Bailey, and the Supreme Court, and a brief bus ride from the City of London — one of the world’s most important centres for commercial law.

Over the next three years, your studies will challenge you, broaden your perspective, and deepen your understanding of the law’s role in shaping society. Just as importantly, this will be a time for forging new friendships, discovering new interests, and making memories that will last well beyond your degree.

We are genuinely excited to welcome the LLB Class of 2028 this September. I look forward to meeting you in person and beginning this journey together.

Very best wishes,

Andrew

Dean and Professor of Law, LSE Law School
