Dr Chaloka Beyani recently served as a member of the Commonwealth Elections Observer Group that was appointed by the Commonwealth Secretary General Baroness Patricia Scott to observe the Kenyan general elections which were held on 9 August 2022. He was also a member of the Committee of Experts that prepared the 2010 Constitution of Kenya.
The preliminary findings of the Group were published here and a second statement, calling for calm, was issued on 16 August.
