Professor Andrew Murray on the rise of 'robot lawyers'

Andrew Murray-2015

Professor Andrew Murray was quoted in a recent Guardian article on 'robot lawyers'.

The article considers how developments in the fields of virtual reality, robotics and artificial intelligence will create a changing legal landscape, from the legal implications of self-driving cars, to new legal career opportunities in tech companies.

This changes the role of the lawyer. An algorithmically-regulated self-driving car would theoretically be unable to speed or to breach dangerous driving laws. This means we will reduce towards zero criminal prosecutions for driving.

'Ready for robot lawyers? How students can prepare for the future of law' appeared in the Guardian on 31st July 2017.
