Meet our Team
Diana Kirsch is the Legal Advice Centre Director at LSE Law School with responsibility for establishing new pro bono projects for students including the new LSE Legal Advice Centre. An alumna of LSE, she qualified as a criminal defence solicitor in 1999 and worked at Moss and Co, a specialist criminal practice in Hackney. In 2007, she moved into higher education, teaching on the LPC at BPP Law School and establishing pro bono projects including BPP’s Criminal Appeals Project.
In 2019, Diana joined Hertfordshire Law School and as Director of Pro Bono and Associate Dean Enterprise she founded the award-winning Hertfordshire Law Clinic, the Shelter Court Runner Scheme, and the Stevenage Welfare Benefits Appeals Project.
Since 2021, she has also served as an External Examiner with the Solicitors Regulation Authority, overseeing the Police Station Representative Accreditation Scheme (PSRAS).
Saher Nada Osman did her law degree at Queen Mary, University of London and her LLM at University College London. She qualified as a solicitor in 2010 at a large Legal Aid firm where she specialised in debt and litigation. She later practiced employment law and led the employment team at Camden Law Centre for 5 years. Saher also set up a thriving volunteering partnership between SOAS, University of London and the Law Centre. She trained and supervised the student volunteers.
Saher was senior solicitor at YESS Law, a NFP employment law practice, from 2018 to Summer 2025. She gained a wealth of experience in negotiating settlements and representing at judicial mediations. Saher qualified as a mediator in 2021 and was head of workplace mediation at YESS Law.
Saher’s strengths include connecting with her clients and reaching solutions based on client objectives. She explains legal concepts in plain English and is sensitive to different client needs and backgrounds.
Saher is a member of ELAN (Employment Legal Advice Network) and also sits as a trustee of the Kosmos Centre (formerly the Camden Cypriot Women’s Organisation).
Behnia Naemi is the Clinic Co-ordinator at LSE Law School, supporting the development of pro bono projects and student engagement within the Legal Advice Centre.
He completed his National High School Diploma in Iran in 2018, where he was also a participant in the Iranian Astronomy & Astrophysics Olympiad, before pursuing Pre-University studies at Sunway University in Malaysia in 2019. He began his LLB at the University of Hertfordshire in 2021, followed by an LLM at King’s College London in 2023.
Since 2021, Behnia has been an active member of two award-winning university law clinics, at Hertfordshire and King’s College London, where he contributed to cases including family, immigration, housing, and employment law. During his time at King’s, he also took part in the Wandsworth County Court Runner Scheme, assisting duty advisers with housing cases and promoting access to justice. Alongside his academic work, Behnia has gained diverse professional and voluntary experience in legal, fundraising, charity, retail, and hospitality settings. His combination of academic achievement and community involvement reflects his commitment to advancing access to justice and supporting those most in need.
Dr Martin Husovec leads the European Court of Human Rights Intervention Clinic. Martin's academic research investigates questions of innovation policy and digital liberties, in particular, regulation of online digital platforms, intellectual property, and freedom of expression. Martin is one of the leading experts and educators on the EU Digital Services Act. He is the author of the monograph, Principles of the Digital Services Act (Oxford University Press, 2024) and designer of popular courses on the Digital Services Act. Martin is also one of the rapporteurs of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on online safety and empowerment of content creators and users. Over the years, Martin acted as a lawyer for numerous NGOs before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) in digital-technology-related cases (see the overview of cases here). Martin’s work was repeatedly cited by Advocate Generals at the Court of Justice of the European Union.
Dr Marie Petersmann leads the Sustainability Clinic. Her work focuses on international law, ecology and critical theory. She holds a PhD from the European University Institute (Florence) and an LLM from the Graduate Institute (Geneva). Marie is the author of When Environmental Protection and Human Rights Collide: The Politics of Conflict Management by Regional Courts (Cambridge University Press 2022). She sits on the Editorial Board of the Review of European, Comparative & International Environmental Law (RECIEL). Prior to the LSE, Marie was Senior Researcher at Tilburg Law School (2020-2023), Resident Fellow at the Istituto Svizzero in Rome (2022-2023), Postdoctoral Fellow at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development in Utrecht (2019-2020), and Teaching Associate at the Strathclyde Center for Environmental Law and Governance in Glasgow (2018-2019).
