Law in Action - The Truth is Out There?
In the age of misinformation, disinformation and AI, it can be hard to discern fact from fiction, or discover what the truth actually is. As lawyers and academics, the idea that the way truth is seen has changed, is challenged and is constantly evolving, creates new difficulties for us all. So, how does it feel to make news, challenge fake news, or create the legal structures that try to challenge and keep up with the fast moving world of technology and fake news?
In the second of a series about the ‘Law in Action’ hear from Sam McAlister, whose work was to ‘make news’ at BBC Newsnight, and negotiated the famous interview with (former) Prince Andrew, Sir Robert Buckland KC, the former Lord Chancellor, who developed, scrutinised and made many of the laws that govern us all, and Andrew Murray, Professor and Dean of LSE Law School who is an expert in the area of New Media and Technology Law.
Can we find and protect the truth in our modern age? A rare chance to meet some of the people who know the answer.
This event operates on a first come first serve basis, a ticket does not guarantee entry so please arrive early to secure your seat.
