Applications are open for LSE students to become CIVICA Ambassadors for the 2026/27 academic year, running from 14 September to 9 October 2026.
Represent LSE within Europe's leading social sciences university alliance, connect with students across ten universities, and help shape the future of international collaboration through the CIVICA Ambassador programme.

Become a CIVICA Ambassador
Applications are now open for LSE students who would like to become CIVICA Ambassadors for the 2026/27 academic year.
This is an exciting opportunity to represent the LSE student community within CIVICA, the European University Alliance of leading institutions specialising in the social sciences, humanities, public policy and management. As an Ambassador, you will act as a bridge between LSE students and the wider CIVICA community, helping to raise awareness of opportunities, strengthen international connections and contribute to student-led initiatives across Europe.
Whether you are interested in international collaboration, student engagement, civic participation or building connections with peers from across Europe, the Ambassador programme offers a unique opportunity to develop your skills while helping shape the CIVICA experience.
What do CIVICA Ambassadors do?
As a CIVICA Ambassador, you will:
- Promote CIVICA opportunities, events and activities to the LSE community.
- Act as a first point of contact for students interested in learning more about CIVICA.
- Work with Ambassadors from other CIVICA universities on joint initiatives and projects.
- Participate in regular online meetings with fellow Ambassadors and CIVICA representatives.
- Contribute ideas that help strengthen student engagement across the alliance.
- Support CIVICA events, communications and outreach activities.
- Represent LSE at selected CIVICA events and meetings.
- Assist with CIVICA university visits to LSE campus.

Eligibility
We welcome applications from students who are enthusiastic about international collaboration and can demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills.
Applicants should:
- Be enrolled at LSE for the duration of the 2026/27 academic year and be studying on campus (not on a year abroad).
- Have a genuine interest in international engagement and European collaboration.
- Be willing to work as part of a diverse, multicultural team.
- Be proactive and keen to contribute ideas and initiatives.
- Be able to commit a small amount of time each month to Ambassador activities.
- Be able to balance commitment to the CIVICA Ambassador role alongside other responsibilities.
- Be able and willing to travel for CIVICA events in Europe when necessary.
Students from all degree programmes and study levels are encouraged to apply.
Frequently asked questions
The expected time commitment is 5-10 hours a month. This can vary month to month, with some months requiring less commitment.
CIVICA Ambassadors are expected to attend one in-person meeting a year, which will be hosted by a CIVICA university. CIVICA Ambassadors will be awarded a bursary to cover the costs associated with attending the meeting.
There may be other opportunities to attend in-person events and to represent CIVICA throughout the year.
Selected CIVICA Ambassadors will have their profile and contact information displayed on a dedicated section of the CIVICA website.
You do not need previous experience with CIVICA to apply for this position, as we welcome applications from students who are new to LSE and the CIVICA European University Alliance and are interested in becoming involved. If you have already been involved in CIVICA, we would love to hear about your previous involvement!
