We are holding a week of Welcome events to help you meet your peers and get settled into the IR community.
If you're not sure where rooms are, you can use the Student Hub app campus map to find them or Maps and Information for LSE Buildings.
You will be able to see your personalised Welcome events calendar from early September in the Student Hub.
Welcome events for undergraduate students
- 10.00-11.00pm in the Peacock Theatre
Department of International Relations Welcome Address
Join a panel of IR faculty who will be discussing a broad-ranging, topical question. Immerse yourself in the IR community to kick-start the Welcome experience. - 4.00pm-5.00pm in the Peacock Theatre
Presidential Welcome address
Join classmates from across LSE to celebrate becoming part of LSE. You'll hear about what LSE can offer you from President Larry Kramer, Vice President for Education Emma McCoy, and Students' Union General Secretary Amara Jane Otero Salgado. Please remember to bring your LSE ID or your pre-enrolment letter to enter the Peacock Theatre and arrive no more than 5 mins early.

BSc IR induction and reception - this mandatory session is an opportunity to talk to the Departmental Tutor, teaching and PSS staff and ask questions, and to meet your peers over some light refreshment.

Consent.Ed - The mandatory Consent.Ed programme explores issues around sexual consent, providing an opportunity for us to discuss how we can look out for one another and create a positive, respectful consent culture, where everyone feels safe on campus. The Student Academic Mentors drop-in - The Student Academic Mentors are second and third years in your department, trained to support you throughout your first year at LSE. Want to hear tips and advice for getting started from a student who has been in your shoes? Come along to the Afternoon tea to meet the SAMs and enjoy tea, coffee and scones!
- 2.00-5.00pm: At this optional treasure hunt around London, you join forces with the people on your programme to find the hidden treasure. We'll circulate enrolment and joining details via email. There will be a prize for the winning team!

Graduate Course Selection Browsing
Graduate Course Selection opens for browsing at 10am on Monday and PSS staff will hold a Zoom call to answer any questions.

Induction for students on LSE-Sciences Po Double Degree in Affaires Internationales - this mandatory lunch is an introduction from the Programme Director and a chance to ask questions and find out how to make the best of your time at LSE. - Meeting with your Academic Mentor.These sessions will take place on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of Welcome. What I Wish I Knew session - Join a group of current PhD students for an informal discussion about their experiences of doctoral study and what they wish they had known in their first year. With no academics or staff present, this is a relaxed and supportive space where you can ask questions openly and get honest advice from your peers.
