The main focus of Dr Getmansky's research is understanding the sources, management, and consequences of intrastate and interstate conflicts. In particular, she is interested in the relationship between domestic political institutions and conflict. She has studied these topics cross-nationally, as well as in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Syrian refugee crisis.
Dr Getmansky is not taking on new PhD students for entry in 2022/23.
Dr Getmansky welcomes applications from prospective PhD students from 2023/24 interested in quantitative analysis of conflict and its consequences, and especially those interested in causal identification methods.
