About me

Kara Blackmore is a curator and anthropologist who works at the intersection of arts, heritage and post conflict reconstruction. She has more than a decade of experience in east and southern Africa working for NGOs, cultural institutions and government entities. To reflect on this practice, Kara is undertaking her PhD at the LSE. Her research investigates the politics of memory and memorialization in Uganda. She is also curating an arts-based pathway to impact for the Politics of Return research project, housed at the Firoz Lalji Centre for Africa. She also speaks Kiswahili.
