LSE Engagement and Partnerships Fund

The Human Impact Pathway (HIP) wins a £20K grant from the LSE Engagement and Partnerships Fund: The project will work with local partners in fragile and crisis settings to promote human security and responsible corporate and investment behaviour. Its aim is to build local expertise and create a network of community-based actors, across different regions, trained to improve social impacts and minimise social risks associated with business operations. This partner network will strengthen the unique selling proposition of the Human Impact Pathway: delivering local solutions to global social impact challenges for companies and investors, and helping business to work with local communities. The project will connect and provide training for NGOs in at least two countries, India and DRC, to collect data, provide analysis and implement engagement activities to deliver the services offered by HIP.

London Social Ventures Catalyst Programme

The Human Impact Pathway (HIP) has won £15K in grant funding from London Social Ventures as a pioneer social venture on harnessing the private sector in sustainable development: The Human Impact Pathway supports businesses and investors to manage social risks and generate positive impacts in complex locations. Drawing on academic rigour and grounded local knowledge, HIP delivers last-mile data, actionable insights and solutions that go beyond compliance— supporting firms to create sustainable outcomes, protect communities, and build trust. Companies increasingly face pressure to address their social impact in fragile or remote locations. Yet, most lack the tools, data, or connections to engage with communities meaningfully. Without support, they risk regulatory penalties, reputational harm, and missed opportunities to contribute positively in areas where their operations matter most. HIP helps businesses design and deliver socially responsible and sustainable strategies by providing granular, place-based data, local stakeholder insight, and bespoke action plans. Unlike large consultancies, HIP combines academic independence with field-based credibility, offering a trusted, cost-effective alternative to navigate emerging regulation and community expectations. London Social Ventures is a collaboration of leading London universities seeking to transform how entrepreneurship achieves social impact. London Social Ventures offers several programs focused on building a strong pipeline of university-based social ventures, while gaining deeper insights into the support they need to grow and achieve long-term sustainability.
