Si Vis Pacem: Reimagining Security through Peace

Exploring how peace can be reclaimed as a guiding principle of security policy.

Through a range of research, policy, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, the project advances a peace-centred approach to security, equipping experts across academia, diplomacy, and policymaking with up-to-date knowledge and practical skills to prevent, manage, and transform conflicts through peaceful and non-armed means.

By examining the drivers of insecurity, polarisation, and societal fragmentation, the project develops policy-relevant knowledge and approaches to strengthen democratic resilience, conflict-prevention, and crisis-management capacities. In doing so, it seeks to contribute to an international order grounded in peace, cooperation, and collective security, moving beyond armed confrontation while building on and advancing the founding ideals of the European and United Nations projects.
