Assistant Professor of PhilosophyDepartment of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method

Salary is no less than £68,087 per annum and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website. This appointment is tenable from September 2026.

Candidates must have expertise and research interests in an area of philosophy that has a substantial research connection to sustainability. Candidates must be able to develop a new course in philosophy and sustainability, and be able to make a substantial, research-led contribution to the Department’s core teaching provision.

This role involves extensive collaboration with GSoS. Candidates are expected to be committed to this collaboration and willing to contribute to GSoS activities. We therefore particularly welcome candidates whose work bears on GSoS’s five research themes.

Head of Climate and Growth Initiative - The International Growth Centre (IGC)

Salary from £53,949 to £62,160 per annum with potential to progress to £69,073
inclusive of London allowance. Full time open-ended contract subject to funding, with minimum commitment of 24 months.

The ICG is seeking an exceptional leader to direct the new flagship Climate and Growth Initiative (CGI) – an ambitious, high-profile partnership with GSoS to shape how developing countries achieve sustainable growth, from climate adaptation to green transitions to conserving natural capital. The Head of CGI will set its strategic vision, drive cutting-edge research, and translate it into influence at the highest levels of government and global forums.
