Professor Mikhail Chernov to join Department of Finance

The Department of Finance is pleased to announce that Mikhail Chernov will join the Department as Professor of Finance from September 2010.

Professor Chernov joins the Faculty from London Business School, where he is Associate Professor of Finance; he is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). He obtained his PhD from Pennsylvania State University, following which he was an Associate Professor of Finance at Columbia Business School.

His research covers the fields of asset pricing, derivatives, fixed income and financial econometrics, with specific interest in interest rates and options and their relationship to macroeconomic fundamentals. He joins the LSE as Professor of Finance and will teach students on the MSc Finance and MSc Finance and Private Equity programmes.

Professor David Webb, Head of Department, said: "We are delighted that Mikhail joins the School next year. He will be an excellent addition to the Department, contributing to both our research and teaching."
