Meet our speaker and chair
Kyriakos Pierrakakis serves as the Minister of Economy and Finance of Greece and a member of the Hellenic Parliament. He holds degrees from the Athens University of Economics and Business, Harvard Kennedy School, and MIT. As Minister of Digital Governance (2019–23), he transformed public services by launching gov.gr, integrating over 1,500 digital services—including the Gov.gr Wallet and the award-winning My Health app. He also chaired the OECD’s Global Strategy Group (2021, reappointed 2024). From 2023 to 2025, as Minister of Education, he advanced landmark reforms in higher education, school safety, and digital learning, strengthening Greece’s capacity for innovation and global engagement.
Vassilis Monastiriotis is the Director of the Hellenic Observatory Centre for Research on Contemporary Greece and Cyprus, Professor in Political Economy and Eleftherios Venizelos Chair of Contemporary Greek Studies.
