America’s longstanding role as the guarantor of security in Europe and Asia is now under question at home.

In this lecture, one of India’s leading strategic thinkers and commentators examines the roots of Donald Trump’s America First agenda and assesses its implications for the future of stability on the Eurasian landmass and its surrounding waters.

Meet our speaker and chair

C Raja Mohan (@MohanCRaja) is a distinguished fellow at the Council on Strategic and Defence Research in Delhi and a visiting professor at the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore. He is a columnist for Foreign Policy and the Indian Express. He served as the founding director of Carnegie India and the Asia Society Policy Institute in Delhi. He was also the Director of the Institute of South Asian Studies, National University of Singapore (2018-21).

Peter Trubowitz (@ptrubowitz) is Professor of International Relations, and Director of the Phelan US Centre at LSE and Associate Fellow at Chatham House, Royal Institute of International Affairs.
