CIVICA Global Forum in Madrid: Tackling today’s challenges together

The CIVICA Global Forum took place on 6-7 May on IE University's campus in Madrid, bringing together university leaders, scholars, students and policymakers to reflect on the role of the social sciences and higher education in tackling global challenges, and to imagine what comes next.

LSE's delegation attended different sessions and contributed to various panels over the two-day event. Our Professor of European Politics and Chair in Contemporary Turkish Studies, Professor Yaprak Gürsoy, offered an overview of recent developments in the Turkish higher education sector in a panel entitled 'The Political Economy of Higher Education: Inclusiveness, Societal Advancement and Shifting Demographics.'
