Join the DSI
Central to the DSI is a dynamic and growing community that brings together expertise in data science, AI and social science. This intersection is where technical innovation meets critical social insight enabling research, education and engagement activities that address the most pressing challenges of our time.

Our Faculty Affiliate Network is made up of over 100 LSE academics, with representation from 27 different departments, research institutes, centres and initiatives across the School.
Faculty Affiliate benefits:
- Community: The DSI provides Affiliates with opportunities to meet other researchers from across LSE; to network, communicate and engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research that enhances discovery and innovation within the field of data science and AI as applied to social science questions
- Agenda setting: Affiliates play a key role in supporting the development of the DSI agenda and defining our research priorities. They are invited to actively participate in our events and collaborations
- Communications: DSI will share Affiliate research and activities through our newsletters and social media channels as well as on the DSI website
- Events: Affiliates are invited to propose events to be included in our annual programme of public, research and student events. Events could showcase their own work or highlight the work of others in the field
- Co-working space and hosting: Affiliates can book DSI meeting rooms and hot-desk space for their own use. They can also apply to have their research students located at the DSI with desk space and access to meeting rooms. We can also discuss hosting visiting collaborators
- Research support: DSI can provide advice about cloud computing options and provide some access to resources for testing purposes.
Any LSE staff member who wishes to be associated with DSI, and whose research and interests align with the mission of the Institute, are invited to join the DSI as an Affiliate.
