CALL FOR PAPERS
6th LSE-Cambridge Workshop on Political Economy of Türkiye
9-10 July 2026, Cambridge, UK
Submission deadline: 1 March 2026
The European Institute and Contemporary Turkish Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science as well as the Department of Land Economy at the University of Cambridge are jointly organising a workshop on the Political Economy of Türkiye. This will be advertised on our Upcoming Events pages in due course.
The workshop will take place at the University of Cambridge on 9-10 July 2026. The event will feature a keynote speech by Prof. Melani Cammett (Harvard University) and one of the invited papers will receive the “Atakan Yalçın Best Paper Award” presented by the keynote speaker.
There will be a dedicated discussant for each paper, as well as open floor discussion. The event will provide a platform for researchers and policymakers to discuss new research and to identify areas where further academic and policy-oriented work is needed. Both theoretical and empirical contributions are welcome. Papers are invited on the following (non-exhaustive) list of topics:
- Elections, political crises, democracy, and nationalism
- Inflation, exchange rates, bank credit, systemic risks
- Political connections, trade, firm performance, urban economics, regional inequality
- Economics of immigration and demographic transition
- Educational reforms, family and health policies, and topics in public economics
While we accept preliminary versions, presenters need to submit full papers. Please submit yours on the workshop website via this link.
The authors will be notified about the acceptance of papers by 31st March 2026.
