Analytics Note #03: The impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Subnational Finances presents key findings from a survey of 33 finance departments of city and regional governments. It highlights the challenges involved in financing the response to the pandemic at the subnational level and outlines the ways in whcih city and regional governments have been managing the financial pressure.

This Analytics Note is part of the led by LSE Cities, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), and the World Association of the Major Metropolises (Metropolis). This Initiative investigates the institutional dimensions of rapid and radical action in response to global emergencies to provide city and regional governments with framework.
