Bloomberg LSE Residency Fellowship

The Bloomberg LSE European City Leadership Initiative recruits a Resident Senior Policy Fellow on an annual basis to undertake a 12-month Fellowship at LSE Cities. The Fellowship is open to mid-career urban governance and policy practitioners and invites applications from both UK and international candidates.

This is a transformative opportunity for professionals with an interest and direct experience of city government innovation to spend a year immersed in a leading academic environment with an international reach, fostering personal and professional growth. Fellows engage with diverse faculty, students, and peers across urban studies, public administration, government studies and management, exploring innovative, applied research topics and approaches relevant to their cities.

The opportunity emphasises cross-disciplinary learning and encourages participants to connect real-world challenges with a growing research environment on city governance, enriching their capacity to drive meaningful change in their professions and communities. In addition, Fellows can build on their professional experience to provide input and advice and establish connections with cities and city governments, assisting in shaping and delivery around their particular area of expertise.

Please note, applications for the 2026/27 Resident Senior Policy Fellow have now closed.
