Tsinghua University Young Leaders Summer Programme

This programme is organized jointly by the Confucius Institute for Business at LSE, Tsinghua University and Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) with the aim of enabling young professionals from London to better engage with modern China from a business perspective.

Programme summary

The programme has limited places and will run from 17 – 27 July 2018 (TBC) at Tsinghua University, Beijing where participants will take part in a series of tailor-made intensive Chinese language programmes, including language learning, field trips and culture talks and networking events. The programme is designed by the Tsinghua University International Chinese Language & Culture Center (ICLCC) and provides a great opportunity to experience the real China at one of the world’s best universities!

Programme scholarship and fees

What the scholarship covers?

  • Tuition fees, accommodation fees, cultural tours and excursions for the two-week Tsinghua Immersion Programme.

  • Pre-departure training.

What will I need to pay?

Payment to CIBL (£330):

  • Deposit: £250

  • Administration fee: £60

  • Internet fee for 2-week Tsinghua Immersion Programme: £20

Additional items that participants will pay for include:

  • International travel and visa fees

  • Travel insurance

  • Personal expense in China

Requirements

Places are limited and priority will be given to CIBL students although all applications will be considered

NOTE: This programme is not open to the former attendees.

The application is now closed.

Interview

All applicants must attend an interview with a member of the CIBL team. The interview invitation will be sent out before 26 April.

Selection results

The applicant will be informed whether his/her application has been successful or if he/she has been placed on the waiting list according to the results decided by CIBL selection committee meeting.

Confirmation and payment

Successful applicants are asked to do the following within 7 days:

  • Confirm attendance on the programme

  • Make payment of all relevant fees

  • Submit copies of passport, the CIBL information form and an e-version of a passport photo to Craig Meegan
