What we offer

Our services focus on using cutting-edge behavioural science research within an ethical framework to build individual and organisational capacity. In doing so, we deliver insights and tools from behavioural science which unlock improved processes, decision-making, and outcomes.

We deliver insights and tools to unlock improved processes, decision-making, and outcomes

Improving managerial and executive performance

The Behavioural Science Capacity Hub improves managerial and executive performance through interactive training offered in two formats: Foundational Training and Custom Learning Experiences.

Foundational Training

Engage directly with Professor Delaney in these highly interactive online, hybrid, or in-person sessions. Our training transforms cutting-edge research from behavioural science into practical insights your team can use through case studies, actionable frameworks, and accessible tools. The training focus on three foundational topics:

  • Decision-making quality - What does behavioural science theory and research tell us about the factors affecting individual decision-making? Learn to apply insights from behavioural sciences to decision-making challenges specific to your organisational context. In this training, you will:

    >  Explore the concepts of project premortems, noisy decision-making environments, decision hygiene, and the psychology of administrative processes.

    >  Learn to use a range of tools to enhance decision-making quality specific to each stage of the process, including preliminary assessment, challenging biases, and evaluation of final proposals.
  • Psychology of administrative burden - A growing body of evidence has demonstrated significant costs associated with burdensome administrative processes, including negative impacts on user experience and compliance. Administrative burden, or ‘sludge’, creates frictions within organisational systems which impede progress towards desired outcomes. In this training, you will:

    >  Explore the concepts of administrative sludge.

    >  Learn to identify, measure, and reduce the effects of administrative sludge within organisational processes.
  • Ethical aspects of applied behavioural science - Insights from the behavioural sciences are increasingly used by organisations worldwide to ‘nudge’ people to make better decisions. In response, an ethical debate on nudging human behaviour has recently emerged. In this training, you will:

    >  Explore ethical considerations on nudging human behaviour and the implications of these for organisations applying behavioural insights.

    >  Gain practical skills to conduct ethical assessments of processes within an organisation, utilising memorable frameworks to evaluate policies, strategies and decision-making.

Custom Learning Experiences

Meet your highly specific and unique learning needs with a bespoke learning experience. These sessions, organised as online, hybrid, or in-person training, are custom designed for your organisation.

Building capacity within organisations and governments

The Behavioural Science Capacity Hub enables organisations to leverage insights from behavioural science. Depending on your desired outcome, we offer three levels of capacity building assistance. Each level builds on the previous, offering you increasing support based on your unique needs and readiness.

Assess – explore the potential of behavioural science in your organisation

In one structured workshop with key members of your team, we take you on a journey to uncover how the challenges your organisation faces relate to behaviour, the available options to address them, and your organisational capacity for applied behavioural science.

The result is a clear understanding of the potential impacts of behavioural science for your organisation.

Plan – map your pathway to leveraging behavioural science

We conduct a formal evaluation of the potential implications of behavioural insights for your organisation. We draw on a range of research methodologies including a series of face-to-face meetings to understand in-depth the potential impacts of behavioural science in your organisation. These findings inform the development of tailored demonstrable projects, assessed based on agreed measurable outputs to maximise impact.

The result is a roadmap report with tools to address capacity gaps and leverage behavioural science.

Build and install – implement your roadmap with expert guidance

We work with you from start to finish in designing and implementing a capacity building plan. Capacity building may include targeted training for management or employees; transformation of internal processes to reduce administrative burden; and advice in the establishment of a behavioural insights department within the organisation.

Our work is designed to fully empower your organisation with the tools, frameworks, and infrastructure to develop your own behavioural science products and interventions, backed by continuous expert support and advice.
