Bio

Maria Correia is a Professor of Accounting at the London School of Economics. Her primary research interests include credit markets, disclosure regulation, and corporate governance. Her research has been published in leading academic journals, such as Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, and Management Science, and has been covered, among others, by Politico, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.

She serves as an associate editor for Accounting and Business Research and European Accounting Review and is a member of the editorial boards of The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, and Journal of Business Finance. She received several teaching awards.

Prior to joining LSE, she was a faculty member at London Business School.

She holds a PhD in Business Administration (Accounting) from Stanford University.
