Asmaa leads the joint LSE Cities and the School of Public Policy leadership capacity building programme designed to support England's growing cohort of regional and Metro Mayors. The initiative sits within a wider programme supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies, aimed at strengthening the institutional capability of Mayoral Strategic Authorities (MSAs) and advancing the UK's broader devolution agenda.
Asmaa is responsible for the overall management, delivery and development of the programme, providing strategic and operational leadership across its partnerships, activities and stakeholder engagement. Working with partners across local government, higher education and philanthropy, she ensures the programme is delivered effectively and achieves meaningful impact for participating mayoral teams.
Prior to joining the MSA programme, Asmaa worked in the LSE School of Public Policy as Communications, Events and Alumni Engagement Officer, supporting the School's three postgraduate programmes in public administration and public policy. Before joining LSE in 2015, she worked at an educational research company examining both national and international education systems.
Asmaa completed her undergraduate degree in European Politics and holds an MSc in Ethnicity, Migration and Policy.
