The Greek Politics Specialist Group (GPSG) and the Centre for Research on Contemporary Greece & Cyprus, Hellenic Observatory (LSE) are delighted to announce a Prize Competition for the best research article in the field of Greek politics, broadly defined.
Eligibility
Open to PhD students and Early Career Researchers (up to 5 years since PhD defence/viva). Submissions must be original, unpublished research articles written in English.
Articles may address any aspect of Greek politics broadly defined, including domestic politics, political economy, foreign policy, political theory, and Greece’s role in Europe and the wider world.
Prize
The winning article will receive a £300 cash prize. The winning paper may be considered for publication in the GreeSE Papers series of the Hellenic Observatory and/or in GPSG’s working paper series. The author may also be invited to present their research at the Hellenic Observatory Research Seminar series at LSE and/or in a GPSG webinar.
Submissions will be judged by a joint committee of members from the GPSG and the Hellenic Observatory.
The assessment will be based on the following criteria:
• Originality of research and argument.
• Scholarly rigour, including methodological soundness and clarity of analysis.
• Contribution to the field of Greek politics and relevance to current debates.
• Quality of presentation and writing.

Articles should not exceed 8,000 words. There is no set style guide for submission.
